Financing Equal Partnerships Hackathon

11.11.11, Vliruous, MO, and NGO Federation

On May 5th and 6th 2022, the 11.11.11, Vliruos, MO and NGO Federatie (Federation) organized the 2nd edition of Forward Fest; a festival that creates space for policy-makers, practitioners, academics and others to connect, learn and get inspired on how the future of international solidarity could look like.

Disrupt Development collaborated with more than 20 pertinent Belgium actors to develop the featured hackathon that aspired to create a starting point for a vision of how Belgian development cooperation could facilitate more equal financial partnerships.

Throughout the day, through interactive, dynamic and creative sessions facilitated by Disrupt Development, we will brainstorm together on what equal partnerships could look like in concrete terms and especially how they could be financed. After this thinking day, we want to come up with a list of supported focus and action points, which we can elaborate on during a follow-up process. This hackathon is thus the starting shot of a longer trajectory around equal partnerships.

Key deliverable:

  • The start of a longer trajectory around equal partnerships for Belgium’s development cooperation sector.
