New Partnership with the University of Amsterdam!

Disrupt Development is beyond excited to announce a new partnership with the University of Amsterdam - International Development Studies (IDS) Research Master’s Program. From February to June 2024, 8 Research Master students will be exploring Disrupt Development’s unique value addition to the global development sector, defining the agency’s selling points when engaging with clients, and formulating recommendations for its community to make optimal use of its singularity.

This collaboration is taking place in the context of the IDS Master’s Program creating space to re-imagine its content and methods. Guided by a team of Disrupt Development representatives and an IDS course lecturer, the students will have a chance to learn about anti, and decolonial approaches to international development in a hands-on manner that benefits their own professional growth as well as Disrupt Development’s positioning in the sector.

Margreet van der Pijl and Annemaaike Kruisselbrink-Oweitu will be representing Disrupt Development in this initial partnership. Our representatives argued the following: “We are quite excited about this opportunity - we both completed a Master’s Program in International Development Studies in the past and we can see the need for a fresh, non-traditional approach. The fact that our collaboration is set up in a way that will help Disrupt Development fine-tune its uniqueness is a significant added benefit. We’ve had first, productive chats with the UVA team - which consists of no less than 7 students - and we feel inspired by their energy and motivation to come to creative end products.”
